Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to play a critical part in MBPS Finance Controllership by delivering accurate, timely, and insightful accounting and management reporting support to Asia Business Units and global stakeholders. The Accounting Senior Specialist contributes directly to expense management, intercompany recharging, and financial governance, helping ensure strong financial controls and trusted reporting. This role provides exposure to global finance operations, process migration and transformation initiatives, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders across regions. Successful candidates will gain deep technical expertise, broaden their global finance exposure, and build strong foundations for long‑term career growth within a shared services environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Prepare and upload journal entries to support month‑end close, including intercompany allocations, recharges, billing, and settlements
  • Perform bank, intercompany, and system reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
  • Prepare variance analysis and commentary for Financial Statements Review Templates (FSRT) and management reporting
  • Support audit requests by preparing schedules and providing accurate and timely responses to auditor queries
  • Act as Asia point‑of‑contact for clearing intercompany variances and resolving accounting issues with regional and business unit stakeholders
  • Support process migration, transition, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities in coordination with business units
  • Train and mentor junior team members and act as subject matter expert for assigned processes
  • Identify and support automation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls

Required Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and management reporting, including a minimum of 3 years supporting an international organization or Shared Service Center
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (formulas and pivot tables required)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments and manage aggressive timelines
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Willing to work on a day/morning shift and render overtime when required

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA with a university degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
  • Experience supporting financial statement preparation and audit activities
  • Background in accounting or finance process migration or transition
  • Exposure to automation, process improvement, or transformation initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross‑cultural collaboration skills
  • Shared Services or global finance operations experience
  • Excel VBA or project management tool exposure (MS Project or similar)
