Role Description: The Accounting Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for vessels Accounts Payable
  • Ensuring 3-way matching with purchase orders, supporting documents and approvals are in place.
  • Timely processing of vendor invoices and crew allotment payments
  • Prepare vessels payments through internet banking
  • Responsible for accounting entries for vessels A/P function, verify accounting entries performed by accounts assistant
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure proper recording and processing of purchase transactions and resolve issues.
  • Assist in month-end closing and annual audit
  • Handling for vendors enquiries and payments status
  • Banking and Reconciliation: Handle bank transactions, reconcile bank statements
  • Maintain cashbook records in excel
  • Compile invoice documents and prepare detailed monthly fund request to shipowner
  • Perform other ad-hoc accounting responsibilities and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; professional licensure (CPA) is an advantage.
  • Strong foundation in Finance and Accounting, with the ability to apply accounting principles in daily operations.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software and related tools for recording, tracking, and reporting financial data.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting financial information, identifying variances, and supporting process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Philippine tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, and basic corporate compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in shipping, maritime, or related industries is an asset but not required.
