Job Overview:
The Accounting Officer is responsible for the end-to-end accounting process of NSSPI. This role ensures accurate recording of financial transactions, timely preparation of financial reports, compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements, and the proper execution of compliance functions. The position supports management by maintaining reliable financial information, facilitating audits, ensuring timely tax filings, and safeguarding the Company's compliance with BIR, SEC, DMW, and other regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepares check vouchers and process payments to various suppliers for account of NSSPI.
2. Prepares NSSPI's monthly reports including AR and AP reconciliation, bank reconciliation, Trial Balance, Financial Statements, and lapsing schedule of PPE.
3. Files accounting records and documents (softcopy & hardcopy) in an organized and orderly manner.
4. Prepares monthly bank reconciliation of all cash accounts.
5. Facilitates timely payment of mandatory loans and contributions (SSS, Philhealth, HDMF) of admin employees
6. Monitors and facilitates timely payment of company payables such as office rentals, utilities and other dues.
7. Prepares working papers for monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filing.
8. Timely filing and payment of taxes including withholding tax on compensation, expanded withholding tax, fringe benefits, quarterly VAT, quarterly/annual corporate income taxes and all other applicable taxes.
9. Prepares electronic Annual Alphalisting of Payees.
10. Prepares BIR form 2307 for suppliers.
11. Assists Finance Manager in the preparation of working papers for BIR audits (if any)
12. Provides monthly reports to external auditors including required schedules such as general ledger, and general journal.
13. Assists in the preparation of internal budget.
14. Handles and replenishes NCSPI's petty cash fund.
15. Prepares monthly lapsing schedule.
16. Monitors NSSPI's loan amortization.
17. Assists in documentation for VAT refund claims.
18. Assists in documentation for EOE Certificate renewal.
19. Assists during annual financial statements audit.
20. Such other functions and duties as may be objectively assigned to her capacity.
Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
* Proficient in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and month-end closing activities.
* Knowledge of Philippine taxation, including VAT, withholding taxes, income tax, and BIR compliance requirements.
* Familiarity with SEC, BIR, and local government compliance requirements and deadlines.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
* Good communication and coordination skills for dealing with suppliers, banks, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
