Job Description
The Accounting Officer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely execution of the company's accounting and financial operations. This role oversees day-to-day accounting activities, maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, strengthens internal controls, and provides reliable financial information to support business decisions. The position requires strong analytical skills, sound accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and oversee the company's daily accounting operations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reviewed, and compliant with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform and supervise bank, cash, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Monitor and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely payments, collections, and proper recording of transactions.
- Review invoices, journal entries, payment requests, and supporting documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses, providing recommendations to management.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation and timely submission of statutory reports and government requirements.
- Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, supporting documents, and audit requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely completion of financial reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and ensure proper accounting treatment of business transactions.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the Finance Department.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy (BS Accountancy); Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage but not required.
- Minimum of 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate, healthcare, or professional services environment.
- Understanding of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), accounting principles, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across different departments.
- Must be willing to work 100% onsite at the Makati Office.
