Key Responsibilities
- Own the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financials for a portfolio of US clients
- Serve as the primary point of contact and lead all client communication and financial reviews
- Maintain a high standard of client responsiveness—responding to client inquiries same-day when possible and ensuring clients feel supported and guided
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients and operate as a true financial operations partner
- Delegate work to the bookkeeping team and ensure outputs meet defined timelines and quality standards
- Review and approve all work before client delivery (reconciliations, coding, AP/AR, cleanup)
- Proactively identify and resolve issues (errors, inconsistencies, missing data, process breakdowns)
- Translate financial data into clear insights and actionable next steps for clients
- Collaborate with clients external financial professionals (CPA, tax preparer, banker, etc.) to ensure alignment and accuracy
- Lead onboarding of new clients, including cleanup, system alignment, and process standardization
- Establish, document, and continuously improve SOPs based on accounting best practices
- Ensure all work is properly documented and transferable across team members
- Maintain real-time visibility into client status, tasks, and notes within internal systems
- Identify and implement workflow and system improvements across accounts
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a multi-client environment
- Strong, hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, with the ability to stay current on ongoing changes across Intuit products and recommend appropriate tools and solutions
- Working knowledge of US accounting standards and familiarity with US tax concepts and compliance requirements
- Proven experience leading or participating in client-facing financial discussions
- Confidence in communicating with US clients and their external service providers (CPA, tax preparer, banker, etc.)
- Experience working across multiple industries, with the ability to adapt to unique operational and accounting nuances (e.g., trucking, construction, service-based businesses, etc.)
- Deep understanding of reconciliations, transaction coding, AP/AR, and month-end close
- Experience delegating or reviewing work performed by other teams
- Strong experience creating, documenting, and improving SOPs based on accounting best practices
- Ability to manage multiple clients, prioritize work, and meet strict deadlines without supervision
- Strong attention to detail with an ownership mindset
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Must be able to work US business hours consistently
Nice to Have
- Experience in BPO, outsourcing, or international accounting firms
- Familiarity with multiple accounting systems (Xero, Odoo, Sage, etc.); if not currently proficient, willing and able to quickly learn and stay updated across platforms
- Experience with practice management, CRM, and workflow tools (Zoho One, Double, Karbon, or similar)

- Hired staff is required to have a stable and reliable internet connection with at least 20MBPS for both download AND upload speed
