Accounting Manager (MS Dynamics) | Work from Home

Job Summary:

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for hands-on management of accounting operations, financial close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting process improvements for a U.S. based organization. The role partners closely with the CFO to maintain accurate financial records, strengthen accounting controls, improve close procedures, and optimize accounting systems and workflows.

Job Description:

• Oversee and perform day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accurate and complete financial records.

• Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

• Perform and resolve complex balance sheet reconciliations.

• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including escalated transactions.

• Maintain accurate accounting schedules and supporting documentation.

• Own and execute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

• Deliver complete monthly close activities within established deadlines.

• Prepare weekly financial flash reports covering cash position, AR, AP aging, and sales.

• Prepare financial statements, account analyses, and supporting schedules.

• Ensure financial reporting is accurate and aligned with U.S. GAAP requirements.

• Perform inventory accounting under U.S. GAAP, including average cost and lower-of-cost-or-NRV accounting.

• Account for product loss accruals and reserves.

• Perform trade spend and distributor deduction accounting.

• Support accounting requirements associated with an inventory-driven business environment.

• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, documentation, and reporting.

• Strengthen close procedures and improve accounting efficiency.

• Help establish scalable accounting processes to support organizational growth.

• Apply accounting technology and automation tools to streamline workflows.

• Apply advanced knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to improve accounting workflows and system utilization.

• Work across connected financial systems, including BILL.com, Expensify, Gusto, Shopify, and Faire.

• Provide Business Central guidance to members of the Accounting and Finance team.

• Support automation initiatives, including the use of AI tools to improve accounting processes.

• Partner directly with the CFO and business leaders on accounting and financial matters.

• Prepare investor-ready financial support and assist with investor diligence requirements.

• Provide accounting guidance and process recommendations to leadership.

• Help onboard and train additional accounting team members as the function expands.

Qualifications:

• Experience managing accounting operations and month-end close.

• Experience supporting U.S. based financial reporting and audit requirements.

• Demonstrates strong general ledger and reconciliation.

• Demonstrates strong financial reporting and month-end close experience.

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial controls.

• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Amenable to work 8:00 AM-5:00 PM US Central or Pacific Time.

• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.

Screening Criteria:

• CPA required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of U.S. GAAP accounting experience as a controller, assistant controller, or in a comparable role running a full accounting function.

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience.

• Experience in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience in an inventory-driven environment.

• Must have stable employment history.
