Accounting Manager for Hemy (Functional Consultant Profile)

HEMY AS is a Norwegian IT solutions provider with representative offices in the Philippines, including our office in Alabang. We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager (Functional Consultant Profile) to own our accounting function and lead the move to a new accounting system.

You are a seasoned accountant who has managed teams, owned the whole accounting function, and has also built, migrated, or implemented accounting systems. You will lead the migration from our legacy setup to a new accounting system, shape how it's built, and bring AI into how finance work gets done.

• Manage and coach the accounting team, and own the accounting function end to end
• Gather and document requirements across the full accounting cycle and translate them into system design and configuration
• Lead the accounting system build: chart of accounts, tax setup, approval workflows, and period-end processes
• Lead data migration from legacy systems, including mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, validation, and sign-off
• Design, document, and test integrations between the accounting system and connected applications (payroll, banking, billing, CRM, tax or e-invoicing)
• Build reporting and dashboards on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric or a database layer
• Work with developers and IT on customizations, APIs, and data pipelines
• Identify and implement AI use cases in finance (automation, reconciliation, reporting, analysis)
• Train finance users and write SOPs and user guides
• Ensure compliance with PFRS/IFRS, and internal controls, and coordinate with our head office and external auditors
  

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field (CPA is a plus)
• 5 to 10 years of accounting experience covering the entire accounting system end to end: not just AP/AR, but through financial statement preparation and reporting, month-end and year-end close, tax compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls
• Team management experience, ideally as Accounting Manager or Assistant Accounting Manager (best fit: 5 to 10 years in that role)
• Functional consultant background: an accountant with hands-on experience in an accounting system or ERP (configuration, implementation, or process design)
• Experience in accounting system build, and in migrating from an old system to a new one
• Experience with data migration and system integration (mapping, validation, interfaces, APIs, or file-based integrations)
• Working knowledge of AI development concepts and current hands-on use of Claude or GPT in day-to-day work
• Experience writing requirements, process maps, and test scripts
• Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to explain technical concepts to finance teams and accounting concepts to IT

Preferred

• Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or database experience (Power BI experience strongly preferred)
• Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency setups, including reporting to a foreign head office
