Our client is looking for a hands-on Accounting Lead to oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate, timely reporting. This role requires strong ownership of the month-end close process, attention to detail, and the ability to manage core accounting functions while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day bookkeeping and manage the full month-end close process, including accruals, prepaids, and adjusting journal entries
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
- Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Prepare financial reports and maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online
- Perform and manage balance sheet reconciliations, including roll-forwards and reconciliation schedules
- Support audit processes, including external audits and audit readiness
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies
- Support additional accounting and finance responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA preferred)
- 7+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with AP/AR, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, variance analysis, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (QuickBooks Online preferred)
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, retail or inventory heavy industries is a plus
- Experience in forecasting and budgeting
- End to end accounting ownership
