A graduating Accounting, Accountancy, Management Accounting, Finance, or related-course student who is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable with numbers, willing to learn, willing to travel, and eager to understand both the accounting side and the actual manufacturing business behind the numbers.
Company Environment
The Accounting / Bookkeeping Trainee will be immersed in the
Accounting and Finance function of a furniture manufacturing company, gaining practical experience in bookkeeping, financial documentation, accounts payable and receivable, inventory-related
accounting, and general accounting processes.
The trainee will have the opportunity to understand how accounting supports the company's purchasing, production, sales, inventory, payroll, and overall business operations.
Duration of Immersion
Preferred: A longer OJT / immersion period ishighly encouraged.
Extended exposure will allow the trainee to move beyond basic encoding and filing activities and progressively gain experience in
payables, receivables, inventory, costing, reconciliation, financial reporting, and manufacturing accounting.
The actual duration and schedule shall be based on the trainee's academic requirements, school policies, and mutual agreement with the company.
Supervision & Confidentiality
The Accounting / Bookkeeping Trainee will work under the supervision of the
Accounting / Finance Department or designated accounting supervisor.
All accounting, financial, customer, supplier, payroll, and other confidential company information shall be handled strictly according to company policies.
Tasks involving sensitive financial information, tax filings, payments, payroll, bank transactions, or statutory compliance shall be performed only under appropriate supervision and within the trainee's authorized level of responsibility.
Overall Objective
The primary objective of the internship is to provide the trainee with
meaningful, practical, and well-rounded exposure to accounting and bookkeeping within an actual furniture manufacturing business.
The trainee should graduate from the immersion with more than theoretical knowledge—having developed practical experience in
bookkeeping, financial documentation, inventory, costing, reconciliations, and accounting operations, together with the discipline, accuracy, confidentiality, and professional work habits expected of an
accounting professional.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or preferably graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Management Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or another related course.
- Required to complete an OJT/internship program as part of the academic curriculum, if applicable.
- Preferably available for a longer period of immersion, allowing sufficient time to learn and participate in various accounting functions.
- Lives nearby the company or is willing and able to travel to and from the workplace regularly.
- Willing to learn, accept challenges, and perform both routine and new accounting-related tasks.
- Detail-oriented, organized, responsible, and dependable.
- Comfortable working with numbers, documents, spreadsheets, and repetitive data-entry tasks.
- Has basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets is preferred.
- Willing to learn accounting software or the company's existing accounting systems.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of financial, employee, supplier, and customer information.
