As an Accounting Associate, you will join a high-growth consulting environment that values curiosity and continuous learning. This role is designed for a versatile professional ready to handle a diverse range of internal and client-facing functions. You will act as a guardian of financial integrity, ensuring that US GAAP reporting requirements are met while actively seeking ways to leverage automation to improve existing procedures.

Your Impact

  • Financial Close Leadership: Execute critical month-end close tasks, including the preparation and review of journal entries, complex reconciliations, and detailed financial statement analysis. You will ensure all deliverables are met within strict US business day deadlines.
  • GAAP Compliance & Reporting: Support the monthly and quarterly financial statement process by maintaining and updating assigned working papers. You will ensure all documentation is prepared in strict accordance with U.S. GAAP reporting requirements and internal company policies.
  • Process Innovation: Actively identify opportunities to create or improve existing accounting procedures. You will champion the use of automation tools to drive efficiency across the department and the wider consulting firm.
  • Audit & Compliance Support: Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, ensuring the timely resolution of audit requests and questions to maintain the firm's professional standing.
  • Collaborative Mentorship: Work closely with managers to review and approve specific journal entries while providing coaching and training to junior team members to foster a culture of technical excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Support the tax team and other departments with ad-hoc projects, including the compilation of internal financial schedules and specialized reporting as needed.

What You Bring

  • The Experience: 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience. Preference is given to candidates with a background in Start-ups, FinTech, or Lending. Experience in a Big 4 or top-tier accounting firm is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Mastery: Highly tech-savvy and proficient with advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, etc.). Familiarity with NetSuite, FloQast, or WDesk is highly preferred.
  • The Credentials: 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA designation is a strong plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. You must have the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into workable solutions.
  • Operational Agility: Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You are a self-starter who can work independently while managing demands from multiple teams.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to routinely communicate with senior decision-makers regarding financial deliverables and issues.
