The Accounting Associate 2 is responsible in supporting accounting operations with a primary focus on bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, cash controls, and general accounting activities. The role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to independently investigate discrepancies, reconcile financial records, maintain supporting documentation, and collaborate with U.S. and Philippines teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting processes.
Job Description
• Perform daily bank reconciliation processes for Bank of America (BOA), non-BOA, and acquisition entity accounts, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded.
• Generate and review bank reconciliation reports for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances or unreconciled items.
• Tie bank reconciliation reports to Workday General Ledger balances to ensure alignment between financial systems.
• Monitor and reconcile accruals related to City National Bank transactions and other assigned accounts.
• Perform quarterly Deposit Waterfall reconciliations for assigned BOA accounts.
• Maintain the Cash Control Sheet and ensure financial information is current and accurate.
• Review and match paid reference checks and maintain complete supporting documentation.
• Handle requests for bank statements and coordinate with relevant stakeholders.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
• Maintain organized documentation to support audit, compliance, and financial reporting requirements.
• Participate in weekly Accounts Balance Reconciliation (ABR) calls and provide accurate updates to the New York team.
• Facilitate regular coordination with U.S. and Philippines teams to resolve reconciliation issues and complete accounting activities.
• Communicate accounting issues, findings, and required actions clearly to relevant stakeholders.
• Support accounting leadership with reporting, reconciliation analysis, and other assigned accounting activities.
• Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
Required Qualifications
• Experience independently investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies.
• Comfortable working remotely and proficient in leveraging virtual communication tools to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate with clients.
• Demonstrates strong foundation in general accounting principles, with hands-on experience in bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to take initiative in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and issues.
• Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English, to effectively articulate complex financial concepts.
Screening Criteria
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Accounting Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience in bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience working with ERP or General Ledger systems.
• Must have a stable employment history.
