Job Description

The GL, Tax & Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the company's tax compliance, general accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements. The role ensures timely and accurate tax filings and remittances, compliance with Philippine tax laws and accounting standards, and proper management of tax and financial risks.

The position will also serve as a key point of contact for BIR, LGUs, external auditors, government agencies, and internal stakeholders, particularly on tax audits, assessments, regulatory matters, and accounting-related concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the Company's compliance with applicable Philippine tax laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the Company's tax liabilities, including computation, documentation, filing, and timely remittance to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Local Government Units (LGUs).
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of tax returns and statutory reports, including VAT, EWT, FWT, Income Tax, Local Taxes, and other applicable tax filings.
  • Handle and coordinate BIR audits, tax assessments, tax investigations, and other regulatory engagements.
  • Liaise with BIR, LGUs, and other government agencies regarding tax compliance, audits, assessments, inquiries, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their potential impact on the Company's operations.
  • Participate in tax planning, tax forecasting, and tax risk management initiatives.
  • Identify and report potential tax, accounting, and financial risks to the CFD/SFM and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Oversee general accounting activities and ensure accurate recording of accounting transactions across the Company and its business lines.
  • Ensure adherence to IFRS/PFRS and applicable local accounting standards.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries, surveys, and other compliance-related requests.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary schedules, documentation, and explanations.
  • Assist the CFD/SFM in managing finance-related legal and corporate requirements, including corporate secretarial requirements where applicable.
  • Assist in the review of vendor and client contracts, particularly from a financial, tax, and compliance perspective.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for tax, accounting, and regulatory purposes.
  • Provide guidance and support to accounting team members and oversee assigned team members, where applicable.
  • Perform other finance, accounting, tax, and compliance-related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required

Experience:

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in Taxation and General Accounting.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Philippine tax compliance and BIR reporting.
  • Proven experience handling BIR audits, tax assessments, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in tax planning, tax forecasting, and tax risk management.
  • Experience preparing and filing tax returns, including VAT, EWT, FWT, Income Tax, Local Taxes, and other statutory requirements.
  • Strong background in General Ledger, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and accounting operations.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience in a multinational, shared services, testing/inspection/certification, manufacturing, or professional services environment is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Tax Laws, BIR regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in BIR eFPS, eBIRForms, and other government compliance platforms.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS/PFRS and applicable Philippine accounting standards.
  • Strong General Ledger and financial reporting knowledge.
  • Experience using SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar ERP/accounting systems is an advantage.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
