About The Role
ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Accounting and Finance Officer is responsible for the end-to-end operations of the Finance and Accounting team of the organization. The role will take ownership of the accurate financial reporting, financial planning, managing the cash flow, regulatory and quality management compliance, and overseeing the Accounting and Finance team's day-to-day operations. The role reports directly to the Directors of the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning, Forecasting and Budgeting
- Directly work with the Directors to develop the annual budget of the organization.
- Create and provide financial models based on business objectives and planned expansions.
Budget Management
- Assist in establish departmental and project-specific financial budget and target.
- Monitor budget and actual monthly financial performance.
- Identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in facilitate budget review meeting with department leads.
Forecasting
- Prepare and regularly update the cash flow
- Assist in providing an updated financial projection based on business performance
- Participate in the planning and managing of financial risks and needs, and recommend funding approaches.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement)
- Create and maintain dashboards reflecting key financial KPIs.
- Assist in preparing the presentation of the financial results during bi-monthly management meetings or take-over the presentation whenever possible.
- Track profitability of project engagements
- Monitor project budget vs. actual expenditures.
- Identify, flag and recommend actions for cost overruns.
- Prepare and report the project financial performance to key stakeholders and recommend areas of improvement to optimise budget utilization.
Regulatory and Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns (Tax, SEC, Business Permit).
- Spearhead engagements with auditors for the filing of the audited financial statements.
- Coordinate with HR the monthly filing of payroll-related reporting to SSS, Pag-IBIG, Philhealth and Employee Income Tax Returns.
- Process Owner of the Accounting and Finance SoPs and key responsible person for achieving the Accounting and Finance's annual QMS Objectives.
Cash Flow Management
- Monitoring of daily cash position.
- Create and monitor a weekly rolling cash flow forecast.
- Establish links of accounts payable to payments received in accounts receivable especially for direct project costs.
- Minimize Days Receivable Outstanding (DRO) through effective AR management.
- Monitor and ensure timely payment to vendors.
- Maintain appropriate cash reserves for operations
- Recommend short and long term financing options.
- Recommend appropriate investment approach for excess cash.
- Manage relationship with banks and financial institutions.
Financial System Management, Documentation and Filing
- Monitor and check the accuracy of recorded financial data on the organisation's Accounting and Financial System.
- Ensure all finance and accounting drives are properly kept and stored with back-up on the organisation's digital storage facility.
- Ensure that the Accounting and Finance taxonomy are followed and observed consistently.
Leadership and Management
- Supervise the Accounting and Finance Team
- Review and approve report, filings and critical deliverables of each member.
- Provide timely performance feedback for the continues development and growth of team members
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Graduate of BS Accountancy or equivalent.
- Preferably possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent
- With at least 5 to 7 years of solid Accounting and Finance experience.
- With at least 2 years spent either on a supervisorial role.
- Independent contributors who looks to transition to team management are welcome to apply.
- Exhibits strong proficiency in the use of Quick Books and understanding of Accounting Systems.
- Has strong background and exposure on Financial Planning/Forecasting, Budget, Cash Flow Management, Financial Reporting, Taxation and Regulatory Compliance.
- Analytical and with strong eye for details.
- Collaborative and yet knows when proper authority must be exercised in the pursuit of achieving business objectives.
- Proactive and keeps key stakeholders updated to mitigate risks through proper planning and recommendation of short and long-term solutions.
- Can report ONSITE everyday in the office at Makati City.
