Role Overview

The Accounting & Finance Specialist (Team Leader) is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data flow across systems, overseeing reactive invoicing, and leading the execution of monthly reporting requirements. This role combines hands-on financial operations work with team leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality output, compliance, and timely delivery of financial processes.

The role also serves as the primary point of coordination for finance operations execution, supporting both individual task delivery and team performance management.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead, coach, and support team members handling invoicing, settlements, and financial reporting tasks.
  • Monitor daily workload distribution to ensure timely and accurate task completion across the team.
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins, provide feedback, and support skill development.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and financial controls across all outputs.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex financial or system-related issues.

Invoicing & Fee Adjustments

  • Audit transaction and sales data to ensure accuracy prior to invoicing.
  • Oversee and generate system-based invoices based on validated sales reports.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of fee adjustments across financial records.

Settlements Assistance

  • Support and oversee the payout process by verifying incoming funds against consignor obligations.
  • Ensure alignment between expected and received payments, escalating discrepancies as needed.
  • Coordinate resolution of settlement issues with internal stakeholders.

Monthly Reporting SOP

  • Lead the preparation and transformation of HubSpot data for Gross Transaction Value (GTV) reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of sales tax data for parent company reconciliation.
  • Ensure completion of monthly reporting requirements in accordance with established schedules and governance standards.
  • Validate accuracy of financial outputs before submission.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in accounting, finance operations, reconciliation, or financial reporting
  • Prior experience in a leadership, senior specialist, or team lead role preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members in an operational setting
  • Ability to handle high-volume, deadline-driven financial processes
  • Strong understanding of transactional systems and financial workflows
  • Proficiency in Excel, reporting tools, and multi-system environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
