About the Company

Our client is a newly established Japanese-owned company in the Philippines, providing outsourced accounting and compliance services mainly to Japanese companies operating in the Philippines.

The company supports corporate clients with bookkeeping, BIR tax filing and compliance, payment processing support, invoice and billing support, and payroll computation.

Additional services include support for Philippine corporation setup, Resident Agent services, and Treasurer-on-record services.

The company mainly serves Japanese companies entering or already operating in the Philippines, including local subsidiaries, branches, and representative offices.

As the company is in its startup phase, this role offers an opportunity to join as a core member and help build the foundation of the business.

Position Summary

The Accounting & Compliance Manager will be responsible for handling accounting, tax, and compliance work for multiple corporate clients, while also designing internal workflows, quality control processes, and supervising administrative staff.

This is not a purely supervisory role.

The successful candidate will be expected to personally handle hands-on accounting and compliance work across multiple client accounts.

The role reports directly to senior management and will serve as a key member in building the accounting outsourcing business from the ground up.

Main Responsibilities

Personally handle accounting and compliance work for multiple client accounts

Prepare and file BIR tax returns for applicable tax types

Maintain books of accounts and general ledger entries

Compute and process payroll for client companies

Prepare financial statements in accordance with PFRS

Handle SEC compliance matters, including GIS filing and AFS submission

Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and compliance matters

Design and manage accounting workflows and quality control processes

Manage and supervise administrative staff

Handle BIR audits and Letters of Authority, LOA, responses

Report directly to senior management

Requirements

Active CPA license

Minimum 3 years of Philippine tax compliance experience

Experience handling multiple client accounts simultaneously

Experience in an accounting firm or accounting BPO is preferred

Hands-on experience in bookkeeping, BIR filing, and payroll computation

Experience using accounting software

Ability to prepare financial statements in accordance with PFRS

Strong English communication skills

Able to work onsite in Makati

Able to work proactively in a startup environment and build processes from scratch

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience working with Japanese companies

Knowledge of SEC compliance, including GIS and AFS

Experience handling foreign-owned corporations

Experience using eBIR, eFPS, eAFS, and eFAST

Experience in an accounting firm or accounting BPO

Experience working in a startup or newly established business environment

Comfortable creating workflows and processes from zero

Candidates from accounting firms or accounting BPOs will be prioritized.

Candidates with only single-company finance/accounting experience may be considered less suitable for this role.

Salary

PHP 70,000 – PHP 100,000 per month

Depending on skills and experience

Working Hours

Monday to Friday

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
