About The Job
We are seeking a highly capable Property Accountnt with strong expertise in bookkeeping and commercial property accounting. The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end accounting functions for commercial office spaces, including lease administration, CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, and financial record management. This role requires advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Rent Manager, ensuring accurate processing of invoices, payments, and tenant account activity. The specialist will also be responsible for the preparation and review of monthly financial reports, account schedules, and supporting documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently, producing high-quality results with minimal supervision. This position is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting.
What You'll Do
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process and monitor invoices, bills, payments, and receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage collections, issue reminders, and coordinate follow-ups with tenants, vendors, and service providers.
- Reconcile AP/AR balances, investigate discrepancies, and prepare detailed aging reports.
- Maintain complete supporting documentation and a clear audit trail in accordance with company policies.
Bookkeeping & Financial Records
- Maintain accurate general ledgers, journals, and subsidiary records.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial instruments.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and adjustments.
- Support financial reporting requirements through preparation of schedules, summaries, and supporting analysis.
Commercial Property Accounting
- Manage commercial lease accounting, including billing schedules, renewals, and adjustments.
- Prepare CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and generate tenant statements.
- Track occupancy, rent rolls, rental income, and related financial adjustments.
- Prepare periodic financial and operational reports for property management, owners, and corporate leadership.
Software Systems
- Utilize QuickBooks Online for daily accounting, transaction posting, and reporting.
- Operate Rent Manager for commercial lease management, rent roll tracking, and property accounting.
- Work with additional accounting or property management systems as needed, with training provided where applicable.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or any related discipline.
- 6 months to 1 year of strong, hands-on experience in at least one of the following areas: Bookkeeping or General Accounting, Commercial Property Accounting, Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable.
- Proficiency in Rent Manager is required.
- Experience using QuickBooks Online for daily accounting functions.
- Solid understanding of commercial leases, office space accounting, and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
