Role Description The Accountant role at The Digital Banker is a full-time, on-site position based in Singapore. The person in this role will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including recording journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Responsibilities include handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and company accounts, monitoring cash flow, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations, assist with audits, and prepare reports for management and stakeholders. The role also involves collaborating with other departments to provide financial insights, improve internal controls, and support process efficiencies across the business.
Qualifications
- The candidate needs to be commercial.
- Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, cash flow monitoring, and expense tracking.
- Knowledge of international and local accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), tax regulations, and compliance requirements in Singapore.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP software (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar), and strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to perform financial analysis, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide clear financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, cross-functional team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) is an advantage.
- Prior experience in a financial services, consulting, or research-driven organization is beneficial.
