Job Title: Accountant – Hospitality industry (Entry Level)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to support accounting operations for a hospitality business. This role focuses on inventory, receipts processing, and daily financial reconciliation using industry-specific platforms. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working with high-volume transactional data.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, and expenses, in Restaurant365
- Reconcile daily sales reports from Toast with accounting records
- Process and accurately code vendor invoices and receipts
- Maintain and organize digital records of receipts and supporting documents
- Assist with inventory tracking, adjustments, and cost of goods sold (COGS) monitoring
- Perform regular account reconciliations (bank, credit card, and clearing accounts)
- Support month-end closing activities, including journal entries and variance analysis
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between POS, inventory, and accounting data
- Generate reports and summaries using Microsoft Excel
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial data and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, data organization; pivot tables a plus)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage repetitive, high-volume data with accuracy
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Restaurant365 or similar accounting systems
- Familiarity with Toast or other POS platforms
- Experience working with inventory accounting or invoice processing
