Role Overview
This role owns day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close for a growing consumer products business. You will ensure financial accuracy, discipline, and visibility across the business, with particular focus on P&L integrity, cash awareness, and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Manage AP and AR using Bill.com
- Process vendor bills, reimbursements, and credit card transactions
- Ensure timely payments and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Maintain clean vendor and customer records
Bookkeeping
- Accurately categorize all transactions in QuickBooks Online
- Maintain consistent chart-of-accounts usage aligned with management reporting
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment platforms monthly
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Own the full month-end close process
- Deliver finalized financials on a consistent close timeline
- Produce accurate P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
- Investigate and explain material variances
Inventory Accounting
- Track inventory, COGS, and inventory movements in standard inventory software
- Reconcile inventory records to physical counts and systems
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and COGS recognition
- Support inventory planning from an accounting and cash perspective
Forecasting, Cash & KPI Reporting
- Maintain rolling cash flow and expense forecasts
- Track and report key financial KPIs, including:
- Margin
- Burn rate and cash runway
- Inventory levels and turns
- Provide clear, timely financial insights to leadership
Systems, Controls & Coordination
- Maintain and improve workflows across QuickBooks, Bill.com, inventory software and related tools
- Coordinate with external tax accountants and advisors as needed
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online or similar
- Direct experience using Bill.com or similar
- Proven ownership of month-end close and P&L accuracy
- Inventory accounting experience (CPG or product-based businesses preferred)
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Clear written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with CPG, beverage, or inventory-heavy businesses
- Experience supporting founder-led or lean operating teams
- Comfort rolling up sleeves and improving systems
