Accounting Expertise Supporting High-Performance Global Mining Operations

Your Role in the Team

Be part of our client's team as an Accountant, where you'll manage financial reporting, reconcile ledgers, assist with tax compliance, support audits, analyze fixed assets, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities. Your work ensures financial integrity while helping leaders make informed decisions that sustain long-term operational and commercial performance.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of accounting experience in a professional environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to deliver consistent, high-quality work
  • Demonstrated experience supporting process improvements, efficiencies, or operational enhancements
  • Proactive learner committed to continuous professional development and staying updated on industry trends
  • Strong teamwork, accountability, and commitment to meeting individual and team objectives

Your Daily Impact

Financial Reporting

  • Participate in the preparation of half-year and year-end financial statements

General Ledger

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile balance sheets
  • Adjust accounts to maintain accurate financial records

Month-End

  • Perform month-end accounting and reporting tasks to a high degree of quality within required time frames

Tax Compliance

  • Assist in preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS)
  • Assist in preparation of annual fringe benefits reporting
  • Assist in preparation of financial year-end tax reporting
  • Assist in preparation of half-year and year-end financial statements tax workings

Fixed Assets

  • Reconcile, report on, and analyze the fixed asset register and assets under construction

Process Improvement

  • Actively participate in continual process improvement within financial processes, month-end tasks, and reporting of financial results

Audit and Risk Management

  • Support internal and external audits
  • Ensure delivery of accurate and timely information

FP&A Support

  • Provide support for financial modelling, budgeting processes, key cost analysis, and other FP&A activities

Finance Team Support

  • Provide help and support to the greater finance team
  • Assist in role backfill when required
