Job Description

Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner – Supply Chain/Stock Integrity, this role sits within Financial Operations and will be support for the integrity, analysis, and reporting of supply chain financials, with a core focus on warehouse, freight, and stock integrity accounting.

The position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial results through robust month-end processes, journal preparation, accruals, reconciliations, and stocktake/shrinkage reporting, while delivering insightful analysis to support operational decision-making.

The successful applicant will work closely with the supply chain and stock integrity teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and deliver detailed analysis of major supply chain cost lines, including:
  • Warehouse costs (labour, rent, handling)
  • Domestic and international freight
  • Produce weekly/monthly supply chain reporting with clear insights on trends and key cost drivers.
  • Prepare month-end financial reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary.
  • Support monthly and quarterly management reporting requirements.
  • Drive improved visibility and transparency of supply chain costs, including:
  • Cost per channel reporting
  • Store and merchandise-level supply chain cost insights
  • Month-End Accounting & Journal Entries
  • Prepare and post accurate month-end journals, including:
  • Warehouse cost allocations and adjustments
  • Freight expense recognition and cost allocation
  • Inventory-related entries (adjustments, provisions)
  • Ensure all expenses are recognised in the correct accounting period through:
  • Warehouse accruals (unbilled operating costs)
  • Freight accruals (un-invoiced transport costs)
  • Freight Clearing & Reconciliations
  • Perform detailed reconciliation and investigation of overseas freight clearing accounts.
  • Identify and resolve variances between:
  • Overseas Freight costs incurred
  • Supplier invoices
  • Inventory capitalised costs
  • Ensure timely clearing of balances and escalation of aged items.
  • Inventory, Stocktake & Shrinkage
  • Support month-end stocktake processes across distribution centres and stores.
  • Analyse stocktake results and identify variances against book inventory.
  • Calculate and maintain inventory provisions for:
  • Store shrinkage
  • Data Integrity & Costing Accuracy
  • Assist in ongoing review of master data (e.g. cubic measures, product dimensions) to ensure accurate freight and warehouse cost allocation.
  • Support enhancement of costing methodologies to reflect actual operational activity.
  • Improve reporting accuracy through alignment of financial and operational data.
  • Continuous Improvement & Projects
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving:
  • Supply chain reporting capability
  • Cost allocation methodologies
  • Financial processes and controls
  • Support ad-hoc projects across finance and supply chain functions.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years experience in finance, inventory accounting, or supply chain operations
  • Strong Excel skills (financial modelling and data analysis)
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Understanding of:
  • Inventory accounting principles
  • Accrual accounting
  • Reconciliations and financial controls
