I. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Account Manager is a client-facing, revenue-focused role responsible for managing and growing assigned US/EMEA client accounts with a higher level of autonomy and accountability. While the core responsibilities mirror those of an Account Management Associate, the Account Manager is assigned a larger and more complex portfolio and is expected to independently drive account performance, client retention, and revenue growth.
Reporting to the Director, US/EMEA Client Services & Operations, this role works cross-functionally with Account Management peers and the Client Services & Operations team to execute sales initiatives, manage client relationships, and oversee project delivery, contributing directly to the growth and stability of the business.
II. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Client Relationship Management:
- Independently manages assigned mid-to-large client accounts, ensuring consistent service quality and high client satisfaction.
- Executes account growth strategies and provides strategic recommendations based on client performance and market insights.
- Serves as the primary escalation point for assigned accounts, handling higher-stakes client situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Builds trusted client relationships through regular communication and consultative engagement.
- Identifies upsell and expansion opportunities within assigned accounts and proposes them to the Director, US/EMEA CS & Ops.
Revenue & Sales Support
- Responds to RFQs, prepares bid proposals, and supports pricing discussions in coordination with the Director and Operations
- Contributes insights from client interactions to help refine account strategies and offerings.
- Owns bid and project tracking for assigned accounts, ensuring timely follow-ups and clear client communication.
- Executes and refines approved sales plans (e.g., rate cards, partnership agreements) for assigned accounts, coordinating closely with Operations and Account Management peers.
Project Coordination & Operations Support
- Proactively drives operational improvements and expansion by translating client feedback, evolving client needs, and new revenue opportunities into actionable recommendations for the Operations team.
- Works closely with the Client Services & Operations team to ensure smooth project execution.
- Assists in defining project scope, timelines, and requirements to support on-time and high-quality delivery.
- Communicates client feedback related to service quality, speed, and feasibility to the Operations team.
Digital Marketing & Brand Support
- Supports marketing and visibility initiatives by contributing to content such as case studies, podcasts, and social media when relevant to assigned accounts.
- Identifies and shares ideas for digital initiatives that highlight dS capabilities and client successes.
- Builds the brand of dataSpring by collaborating with cross-units like Marketing, BD, and Operations teams on visibility opportunities.
- Represents dataSpring at industry trade shows, conferences, and client-facing events, supporting brand visibility, account growth, and ROI objectives for assigned accounts.
Reporting & Administration
- Provides accurate and timely account updates, forecasts, and reports to the Senior Account Manager.
- Maintains proper documentation of client communications, bids, and agreements.
- Participates actively in Account Management meetings and cross-functional discussions.
General Management Activities:
- Identifies financial and operational risks within assigned accounts and escalates them appropriately.
- Upholds the core values by understanding, communicating, and providing a good example of Springer to members, Clients and the community at large
General Activities:
- Maintains the good public image of the Company
- Functions as a cooperative and active member of weekly Account Management and Team meetings
- Prudently manages resources within budgetary guidelines to ensure profit
- Completes other administrative work as required (e.g. suggest supplies and job tools needed for Sales - Operations) and acts as an active team player
- Contribute to entire dataSpring (and, or other local offices), besides the tasks assigned above
III. ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Physical Requirements & Working Environment
- This is an office environment and typical physical demands apply.
- Must be open to working flexible hours particularly in the mid to night shift in order to communicate efficiently with Global clients
- Must be open to business travel as required for client meetings, conferences, and company-sponsored events.

- Above average written and verbal communications skills in English are required in order to communicate effectively with co-workers, partners, clients and other parties.

- Must have a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
- Ability to deliver results under pressure and show dedication to client services and business development
- Passion with technology, ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and various sales-management software, creation of sales decks, and presentations and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is a must
- Ability to get along well with different personalities and to work well in small teams is required
- Must be self driven and with proven self-leadership skills
- Experience dealing with other cultures and diverse work environments is required
- Must have professionalism, passion to succeed, and a motivation to reach higher goals
- Must have an experience in providing and strategizing solution-oriented proposals to the client
- Ability to participate in sales bid conceptualizations and brainstorming and overall sales and operations support to clients
- Willingness and flexibility to travel for business purposes as needed.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's/College Degree is required
- At least 2 Years of Account Assistant or Account Management experience in the Market Research (panel selling field experience is an advantage); or must have a strong background in sales and client relationship management.
