Role Overview
This team is seeking an experienced Account Executive / Business Development Manager to drive growth for a premier life sciences testing provider. This is not a transactional sales role; it is a high-touch, consultative position requiring a professional who can navigate complex technical and regulatory landscapes. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities and building long-term partnerships with QA/QC, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D leaders within the pharmaceutical, medical device, and personal care sectors.
The ideal candidate possesses strong scientific literacy and the technical curiosity required to bridge the gap between a client's specialized needs and the company's laboratory capabilities. You will manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial qualification and technical scoping to proposal development and closing, all while maintaining rigorous data integrity within HubSpot.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage key decision-makers including QA/QC Managers, Regulatory Affairs professionals, and Product Development teams.
- Lead a consultative sales process, deeply understanding client technical requirements to scope appropriate testing solutions.
- Collaborate closely with internal technical teams to ensure proposed services align with laboratory capabilities and regulatory standards.
- Own the full sales cycle: lead qualification, scoping, quote generation, MSA negotiation, and closing.
- Maintain meticulous records within HubSpot Sales Hub, ensuring accurate forecasting and pipeline management.
- Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring all client communications reflect the company's commitment to integrity and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of B2B sales experience specifically within technical or complex services.
- Proven track record selling to technical stakeholders (R&D, Regulatory, or Procurement) in industries such as life sciences, CRO/CDMO, or contract laboratory services.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving technical scoping and formal proposal development.
- Advanced proficiency with HubSpot Sales Hub; a commitment to a structured, CRM-driven sales process is essential.
- Exceptional professional written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
- Strong technical curiosity and the ability to speak credibly with scientists and engineers.
- Availability to work US Central Time (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT).
Nice to Have
- A Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related Life Sciences field.
- An existing network within pharmaceutical, medical device, or disinfectant manufacturing sectors.
- Experience with regulated procurement processes and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
- Spanish language skills, particularly for engaging with LatAm manufacturing markets.
What You'll Get
- The opportunity to represent a leader in a highly stable, regulated industry.
- A structured environment with established leadership and marketing support.
- A collaborative team culture that values technical expertise over aggressive hunter-only tactics.
- Direct impact on the growth and commercial strategy of a scaling technical service provider.
