The Operations Leader will also act as the key point of contact or liaison for the assigned joint venture partner (hereafter referred to as Territory or Territories) and drive understanding of delivery capability throughout their Territory liaisons and delivery teams with specific responsibility for:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives covering operations, leadership development, and technical training
Monitoring demand volume and coordinating the allocation of work received from assigned Territories to the Team Managers across the service delivery teams.
Monitoring quality of service delivery processes and outcomes across the various service teams specialising in mandated activities.
Providing direction and monitoring compliance with Territory risk and regulatory requirements.
Proactively manage key stakeholders.
Shaping the evolution of people's models and capabilities.
Consistently demonstrate teamwork dynamics by leading your team effectively, proactively providing guidance, clarification and feedback to your direct team members and teams across the group, and contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with superiors and subordinates alike.
Participate in a wide range of projects consistently demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative.
Reporting: The position reports to the Tax Leader.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the management, planning and delivery of tax services
Lead and partner with Talent Management in identifying and executing targeted training and development programs for managers and supervisors
Optimize utilization of team resources by partnering with Deployment team in developing and implementing effective workforce planning and workload allocation
Lead and partner with L&E in ensuring that all resources are provided with technical training and certification accurately and on time
Drives and monitors demand targets, KPIs, quality of service delivery processes, process compliance across the teams in the Cluster
Contributes to the development and execution on various operational projects to ensure ongoing performance, growth of the business and process improvements
Assists in capacity planning on a monthly basis to ensure teams are resourced appropriately to meet the monthly demand or target
Manages a cluster of more than one hundred employees. Performs employee related management including training, coaching, motivating, discipline, performance appraisal, conflict resolution, and the administration of human resource policies and initiatives
Contributes to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team
Assists managers in their career development, performance management, and competency development
Applies learning from experience and communicates effectively through active listening, empathy and methods to enhance quality of delivery across the team and other audiences
Education Background:
Bachelor's degree or above from a recognised tertiary institute relevant to a business management position
Certification/s:
Professional accounting certification such as CPA, CA or equivalent is preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
Process Champion certification is preferred
Six Sigma certification (at least greenbelt)
Work Experience:
10+ years experience in Operations Management, preferably from a MNC with a service delivery model
10+ years exposure in a leadership role with high focus on people management
5+ years experience in project management
Understanding of tax, accounting or audit concepts will be advantageous
Specific Technical Skills:
Working knowledge and understanding of Agile methodology
Strong foundation and working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (certified at least greenbelt)
Advanced analytical, evaluative, and objective critical thinking skills
Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
Proficient and confident in English reading, writing and oral communication skills
Other Capabilities:
Professional accounting certification such as CPA, CA or equivalent is preferred
Lead project management initiatives applying PMP principle
