Organizational Overview:

Payments Agile Release Train leads all payments related projects and focuses on Simplifying Streamlining and elevating Customer and employee Experience of Cardholder Payment Processing including integrating new clients and products and enhancements of existing clients and products

Role Summary/Purpose:
As a critical member of the Payments ART in the Technology and Operations organization, the Payments ART Product Owner is responsible for helping drive & achieve Synchrony's business objectives, by delivering best in class customer experience across a largescale Customer Journeys. The Payments ART Product Owner will lead Agile Team(s) in the coordination and delivery of key products and capabilities, responsible for leading all team activities to bring our products and solutions to market. This includes, but not limited to, partnering with technology program leaders driving the agile execution of product development, and leading the development, testing and launch plans, partnering with cross functional teams to ensure alignment, focus and execution of the product development across multiple products and capabilities. The Product Owner will coordinate testing and provide regular updates to the Global Ops Leadership Team. A solid technology and operational background, combined with the ability to work closely with cross functional support teams including ART (Agile Release Train) agile teams, product managers and internal business leaders while managing the implementation, are critical job requirements. This Payments ART Product owner, should be skilled in the Agile framework, able to lead A team/ Multiple teams, comfortable with ambiguity, can operate in a fast moving, agile environment, is a team player that collaborates well cross functionally and acts as an owner, proactively taking initiative

Key Responsibilities:

Lead 1-2 Agile teams in the Payments ART in the delivery of new products, Product enhancements, New Clients Integrations, Resiliency capabilities, and Feature development.
Partner with Global Ops Product Manager and ART leader to set goals for products and solutions that align to the Agile Teams work and deliver based on priorities.
Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and value proposition for the assigned payment products and capabilities.
Prioritize and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with customer needs, compliance, and business objectives.
Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear, actionable user stories with defined acceptance criteria.
Partner with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) and other Product Owners to plan and deliver Program Increments (PIs).
Maintain alignment across dependent teams, ensuring features and stories are ready and meet the Definition of Ready/Done.
Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and review sessions to ensure continuous delivery and improvement.
Ensure goals and KPIs are included in stories by success metrics such as feature adoption, payment success/error rates etc, API performance and that they are measured, monitored, and met.
Maintain Jira Boards based on assigned Epic and Features
Define releases and program increments within Jira and communicate with agile partners and Product Managers.
Coordinate with ART partners to ensure proper story alignment and delivery
Partner closely with technology program leaders and the Office of Agile to ensure the Agile Team has all required and needed training and aligned with product development priorities, this role partners across the ART and with teams outside the train as needed
Ensure adherence of all compliance and corporate governance policies throughout the implementation. This would include ensuring changes and or new processes and products are documented and aligned to L3's
Be a thought leader on the Payments train, offering solutions, recommendations, challenging the status quo and embracing new technologies and thoughts.
Act as a Subject Matter expert and represent the train and provide updates of capabilities to stakeholders and other forums.
Drive root cause analysis and ensure consistently high availability for the business to ensure they meet their objectives.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

At least 12- 24 months of experience on Projects preferably Operations/ Technology
Adept at navigating and resolving complex problems through innovative solutions, dealing with ambiguous situations, prioritizing tasks effectively.
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
Minimum 8+ years in Financial Services Industry experience in Collections, Operations, Technology OR Customer Solutions, out of which at least 3 years should be spent as an exempt, with prior experience of leading or participating in projects.
Expert verbal & written communicator. Should be able to modulate content based on audience.
Ability to break down complex operational/systemic procedures & convert them into simplified process maps/documents.

Desired Characteristics:

Prior PMP, Scrum, SAFe trained or certified
Technical Aptitude/background
Domain expertise with Web servicing, Contact center technology , Payment Technology, Servicing
Solid Project Management skills
Prior Cross-functional or/& Matrixed Organizational experience
Experience of working in Agile Methodology.
Strong customer focus and ability to manage customer expectations

Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum 8+ years in Financial Services Industry experience in Collections, Operations, Technology OR Customer Solutions, out of which at least 3 years should be spent as an exempt, with prior experience of leading or participating in projects.

Work Timings :

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 07:00 AM Eastern Time - 4:00 PM Eastern Time. This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
