Traffic Management Engineer

We're hiring a Traffic Management Engineer with hands-on experience in Australia and/or New Zealand to support the planning, design, and coordination of safe, compliant traffic management solutions.

This role suits someone who can confidently develop Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), work with stakeholders, and ensure adherence to local standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Traffic Planning & Design

• Prepare Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) in line with AU/NZ standards

• Assess site conditions and develop safe, practical traffic control solutions

• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, permits, and local authority requirements

Software & Technical Execution

• Design and produce traffic management layouts and documentation

• Review and refine plans based on project scope and risk assessments

• Maintain accurate records and documentation for approvals and audits

Stakeholder Coordination

• Liaise with contractors, councils, and project teams to align on requirements

• Support permit applications and approvals with relevant authorities

• Communicate plans clearly to ensure safe on-site implementation

Requirements:

• Proven traffic management engineering experience within Australia and/or New Zealand

• Strong knowledge of local standards and guidelines (e.g. Austroads, NZTA)

• Demonstrated experience creating Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)

• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
