Your Role:
As a
Structural Estimator focused on heavy structural fabrication, you will:
- Manage the entire tender and quote lifecycle, maintaining strong communication with clients.
- Conduct accurate material take-offs from detailed engineering drawings, specifically for structural steel and civil components.
- Source pricing and liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure competitive and timely bids.
- Compile comprehensive tender documents, meticulously detailing all inclusions and exclusions to ensure project profitability.
- Support the General Manager in achieving prompt project timeliness targets (aiming for most prices back to clients within 2 working days).
What You Need:
Non-negotiables
- Must have 3-5 years of experience in a similar role as an Estimator or Project Manager with estimating experience.
- Experience must be relevant to structural or heavy fabrication projects.
- Must hold a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or a Bacheloru0027s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
- Must be fluent with Microsoft Office Applications such as Outlook and Excel.
Preferred skills/expertise
- Direct experience estimating structural steel, civil work, or rebar components.
- Proficiency in modern digital take-off software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, AutoCAD).
- Ability to quickly learn new software (e.g., the in-house ASCORA system).
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment and managing quick turnarounds on quotes.
