Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Production Manager. The Senior Production Manager will oversee end-to-end production processes, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to timelines. Responsibilities include managing production schedules, coordinating cross-functional teams, optimizing operational efficiency, troubleshooting challenges, and upholding compliance with safety and quality standards. The role also involves strategic planning to address business goals and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience working within the Australian accounting, taxation, and regulatory environment (Australian setting experience is essential).
- Proven ability to manage, supervise, and mentor a team of junior, intermediate, and senior accountants/bookkeepers, including providing training and ongoing development.
- Strong proficiency in preparing individual tax returns, including complex scenarios and compliance checks.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing year-end financial statements and tax returns for Australian businesses.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all Australian tax entity types, including companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals, and self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs).
- Hands-on experience in superannuation processing, BAS, IAS, bookkeeping, and payroll.
- Advanced proficiency with Xero Practice Manager, Xero, MYOB, and Class Super.
- Experience using the ATO Portal for lodgments, correspondence, and compliance.
- Technical knowledge in key Australian tax areas, including non-commercial loss rules, Division 7A loans, CGT calculations, depreciation, and family trust elections.
- Ability to identify tax, accounting, and GST issues and apply appropriate tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
- Experience preparing and reviewing Taxable Payments Annual Reports (TPAR), SGC obligations, FBT, payroll tax, WorkCover, and stamp duty matters.
- Strong capability to review work prepared by accountants and bookkeepers, ensuring accuracy and 90100% completion before escalation to the Senior Client Manager/Director.
- Ability to train, mentor, and guide team members in bookkeeping, payroll, financial statement preparation, and tax return preparation.
- Strong task management skills, with the ability to complete high-quality work independently while also supporting a team.
- Ability to assist in strategic client meetings when required, including client software selection, business mentoring, tax planning, and structuring advice.
- Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 57 years of recent Australian public practice experience, with strong exposure to taxation, compliance, and year-end accounting work.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CA qualification (or progress toward it) is strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership experience overseeing teams of accountants/bookkeepers, including staff development, delegation, and technical training.
- Demonstrated expertise across multiple Australian tax types and compliance areas, including companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals, and SMSFs, supported by strong software proficiency (Xero, MYOB, Class, ATO Portal)
