Job Description

Group Finance is recruiting an experienced and highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst for our Group FP&A team. The successful candidate will gain great insight into Manulife's business, across geographies, business lines and functions. The successful candidate will report to the MBPS Finance Team Manager under GWAM & GA Finance FP&A.

General Accountability:

Reporting to the AVP, FP&A, the incumbent will work with teams in our businesses and functions to help support the delivery of our mandate as efficiently as possible, including:

  • Timely, insightful information to support decision-making

  • Enterprise-level Financial Planning

  • Monthly performance management reporting and analysis

  • Key projects to achieve our transformation goals

  • Ad-hoc analysis for CEO and CFO

Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough and timely analysis and insights of our key performance indicators, including trends, headwinds, tailwinds, opportunities, risks and other key drivers

  • Support the annual planning process and assist in the preparation of annual plan reports and analysis

  • Co-ordinate the production of monthly and quarterly performance management reports for the Executive Leadership Team and quarterly reports for the Board of Directors which include financial and non-financial information, and progress on strategic initiatives

  • Support Finance projects to achieve our transformation goals. This includes execution on our KPI reporting project, continuous improvement of the systems and processes in place to ensure accountability and execution partnering with other teams (Technology, Finance, Strategy, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • University graduate in Accounting/Finance, professional accounting designation (CPA) is preferred

  • At least 4 years of experience in a finance role, Wealth and Asset Management industry experience an asset

  • Well-organized, high level of initiative and able to manage and prioritize several tasks with a high level of accuracy

  • Excellent collaboration skills this will facilitate an effective and efficient working relationship with our partners in the businesses and functions

  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on providing forward-looking insight and value-added analysis

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to take complex information and package it for management

  • Strong attention to detail as our stakeholders includes the Executive Leadership Team and Board

  • Excellent PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase, Word)

  • Experience with BI tools, Sharepoint and performance management tools/systems is an asset

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-performing and collaborative team environment while managing multiple, constantly changing priorities and ad-hoc requests

  • Proactive approach to continuous improvements and a positive can-do attitude

  • Ability to identify and investigate complex issues and recommend actionable solutions

  • Must be willing to be on a mid-shift during trainings with North America Business Units
