Your key responsibilities
- Draft clear, well written and easy to understand reports and presentations
- Provide economic, commercial, financial and strategic advice to clients in consultation with senior staff and partners
- Provide support in the assessment of urban infrastructure and municipal services requirements
- Liaise with different technical experts
- Support management of engagements by ensuring that work products and services are oriented to each client's needs, and are clear, accurate and well presented
- Help manage internal budgets and administration requirements and ensure quality, independence and risk management protocols are followed
- Support business development activities including the tracking of key accounts and the preparation of proposals
- Provide support in feasibility studies of infrastructure engagements
- Support the work of consultants and senior consultants in the team where required
- Build and/or use financial and/or economic, value-for-money (VFM), contingent liability models (i.e. familiarity with Excel is preferred)
- Provide advice on appropriate project structure and project delivery
- Build relationships across SGV, with clients and other industry professionals.
Skills and attributes for success
- A strong interest in infrastructure--experience in the economic, commercial, and financial aspects of transport, social infrastructure, major transactions, and/or energy markets
- An interest to further a career in development, planning, ground execution of infrastructure engagements
- Willingness to apply your skills across multiple sectors and multiple disciplines
- Excellent interpersonal and client management skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in internal and external forums
- Advanced report writing, analysis, ability to think logically when problem solving
- Utilize general commercial skills and acumen
- Ability to handle multiple projects/people concurrently, and effectively prioritize competing demands
- A proactive, supportive, and respectful approach to their team; and able to function under pressure, but also demonstrate judgment in asking for help when required.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Professional experience of at least 3-5 years in a relevant role or sector i.e an engineering, construction, management consultancy, private sector industry participant, or within any level of government; Professionals in Finance or Accounting backed with relevant experience in infrastructure/urban planning are also welcome
- Experience in the infrastructure sector particularly: transport, ports, power and utilities, energy, health, and education sector projects.
- Experience in project financing, understanding of project financial modelling and financing market
- Fluency in both verbal and written English
Ideally, you must also have
- Experience in city development, urban planning, and development policies
- An understanding of infrastructure procurement and delivery
- An understanding of delivery options such as PPP (Public-Private Partnership)
- Experience of developing government policy and regulation on all aspects related to infrastructure
- Knowledge and experience in project management principles and processes
