As a Senior Accountant, you are the financial backbone for North American hospitality operations. This role is designed for a technical expert who thrives on the complexity of centralized hotel accounting. You won't just be managing numbers; you will be the key liaison between property-level operations and corporate financial accuracy, ensuring that every transaction across the portfolio aligns with company standards and US GAAP.
Your Impact
Guardian of Property Financials: Take responsibility for reviewing centralized accounting functions, including A/P, A/R, general cashier, and daily reporting. You will ensure all property-level activities are performed accurately and comply with corporate policies.
Audit & Reconciliation Lead: Audit daily cash reports and reconciliations prepared at the property level. You will ensure deposits and balances are recorded correctly while monitoring vendor activity and investigating discrepancies in key accounts.
Month-End & Year-End Specialist: Perform the full month-end close process, including the preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules. You will also post monthly brand reimbursements and manage corporate-level entries.
Strategic Analysis & Process Improvement: Conduct deep-dive variance analysis to investigate fluctuations in financial results. You will identify process gaps and drive improvements to enhance consistency and accuracy across multiple properties.
Audit & Operational Partnership: Support year-end close and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries. Partner closely with hotel operations teams and ownership groups to provide expert guidance on accounting matters.
What You Bring
The Experience: 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years handling the full month-end close.
Technical Mastery: A strong understanding of accrual accounting and US GAAP. You have proven experience reviewing A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and cash management.
