About Us

JOB OVERVIEW

The Civil Project Engineer – Underground Works will provide client-side oversight of all underground construction activities for a pumped storage hydroelectric power plant. This role focuses on tunneling, shotcrete application, rock support, and geotechnical inspections, ensuring that excavation and underground works are executed safely, to design, and with high-quality standards. The engineer will act as the technical point of contact for contractors on all tunneling and underground works.

THE ROLE

  • Supervise tunnel excavation, drilling & blasting, and shotcrete/rock support works.
  • Conduct geotechnical inspections and monitor ground conditions.
  • Oversee steel lining fabrication and penstock installation as required .
  • Review contractor plans, drawings, and technical submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications, QA/QC, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil , Geotechnical, or Mining Engineering.
  • 5–10 years experience in underground construction, preferably hydro/pumped storage.
  • Hands-on experience in tunneling, shotcrete, and underground inspections.
  • Knowledge of drilling, blasting, steel lining, or penstocks is a plus.
  • Strong technical judgment, problem-solving, and communication skills.
