The System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance and patching of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for our Microsoft Windows. This person participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The System Administrator ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures comply with internal and external standards and security requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Engineering of solutions for various project and operational needs
Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Develop and maintain system standards
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of schedules jobs such as backups
Performs regular security monitoring to identify and possible intrusions
Support daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
Provide escalation support per request from various sources investigate and troubleshoot issues
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted parties
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary
Perform other duties and task that may be assigned by the PIC or PIP that will further the interest of data privacy and security and uphold the rights of the data subjects
Job Requirements
Must be a graduate of a Bachelors/College Degree in Computer Science, Information & Technology & Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years work experience relating to Information & Technology.
Training or certificate related to MS Windows Server and Endpoint Administration, MS SQL & Exchange Server, Active Directory, DHCP, Power Shell, Hyper- V, Group Policy etc.
Actual hands-on experience and management of Cloud hosting solutions like: MS Azure & 365, AWS, VM Ware.
Preferably with background in policy making and implementing practices.
Knowledgeable in Philippine data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
