Position: Junior Interior Designer
Qualifications:
General Job Description:
Prepares initial to detailed SketchUp models of designs
Prepares preliminary layouts of furniture and equipment
Secures information in the field for preparation of sketches and layouts
Prepares detailed drawings and maps relative to site and developmental planning
Renders and post processes perspectives (Preferably Lumion/Enscape)
Prepares and organizes construction documents for both renovations and new construction
Investigates and details the furniture and equipment requirements for new buildings
Communicates with other contractors, subcontractors and engineering consultants
Communicates with clients, contractors and subcontractors when senior designers are unavailable
Presents and participates in pre-construction meetings
Attends both in-office and onsite construction meetings as the representative of Ikoniq Design Studio, if necessary
Documents meeting notes
Sources finishes, furniture and equipment; communicates with suppliers
Facilitates ordering and coordination of architectural interior finishes, cabinetry, furniture, and furnishing orders, deliveries and installations
Assures that all approved and up-to-date construction drawings/plans are being followed onsite
Onsite Responsibilities:
Serves as Quality Assurance/Quality Control for Ikoniq Design Studio.
Provides and coordinates with specialty suppliers for the project from inquiry, presentation of materials or swatching to the approval of client.
Identifies and analyzes conflicts in actual site condition and plans.
Directly coordinates with the construction team onsite for any design-related activity.
Serves as a liaison to the rest of the Ikoniq Design Studio team.
For Junior Interior Designers (aside from the aforementioned responsibilities):
Prepares detailed architectural interior construction drawings, millwork and furniture details, swatch/materials board, sourcing, coordinating with suppliers, contractors, clients, and designers, shopping and styling of furniture, equipment, furnishings, and accessories.
Assignments at this level are expected to be of moderate to challenging difficulty and responsibility, with work subject to checking and review by higher level designer and/or a licensed architect/interior designer.
