Job Description:
The Instructional Design Manager will be responsible for designing digital learning content. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum/instructional writing, preferably in the eLearning field.
Key Responsibilities:
Project / Service Delivery
- Manage a team of eLearning designers and developers to conceive, design, develop, and evaluate training modules.
- Oversee multiple projects with minimal guidance.
- Review course designs to ensure the quality of content related to effective learning design, consistency, accuracy, instructional language, and relevance to curriculum needs and requirements.
- Facilitate the creation of engaging and compelling digital learning content for business units across Manulife.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with business partners and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify the target audience's training needs.
Process Improvement
- Monitor project progress and report on key metrics and improvement opportunities.
- Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
- Practice and share industry best practices, case studies, new trends, and tools.
People Leadership
- Identify team members technical skill gaps and support their professional development through structured, formal learning plans, and regular feedback and coaching.
- Model the MBPS Values in Action and adhere to corporate governance and compliance policies, including but not limited to the Code of Employee Discipline, Data Privacy, Information Security, and Risk Management.
Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency with the MS Office Suite and Articulate Storyline 3.
- Knowledge and relevant application of instructional theories and adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated skills in people management.
- Knowledge and experience with insurance contact centers and back-office operations.
- Project Management Training: PMP, Agile, Scrum, etc., and LEAN Six Sigma Training.
- At least 5 years of experience in curriculum/instructional design.
- At least 3 years of experience managing a team of learning or instructional design professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Management consulting experience.
- Experience leading large, cross-functional, organization-wide, multi-site transformation and/or process and performance improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with stakeholders across different geographies, such as North America, Canada, and Asia.
