Job Description
Position Summary: The HVAC Estimator is responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning projects. This role involves analyzing project requirements, reading blueprints, and collaborating with engineering and project management teams to ensure that all estimates meet client specifications and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Calculate labor, material, and time requirements for each project.
Develop and maintain a cost database for labor, materials, and subcontractors.
Communicate with clients to understand their project needs and specifications.
Provide technical support and recommendations to clients and project managers.
Participate in bid reviews and presentations to clients.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure estimates align with project goals.
Assist in project planning and scheduling based on estimate analysis.
Participate in post-project reviews to compare actual costs to estimated costs and refine future estimates.
Maintain detailed records of all estimates, bids, and project costs.
Prepare regular reports on estimating activities and project cost analysis.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in HVAC estimating or a related field.
Experience with estimating software and tools.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Primarily office-based
