Education & Qualifications:
Mining Engineer with First Class Mines Manager restricted cert.;
Experience:
Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Knowledge and Skill set / Competencies
1. In-depth knowledge of mining techniques, equipment, and best practices, with a strong understanding of applicable mining laws and regulations.
2. Proven track record of successful mine planning, production optimization, and cost control.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of mining professionals.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
5. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
6. Proficiency in computer-aided mining software and other relevant tools.
7. Willingness to work in remote mining sites and adapt to challenging working conditions.
8. Valid mining certification and licenses as required by local regulations.
Main Responsibility Areas
1. Oversee and manage all mining operations in Karnataka.
2. Develop and implement mining plans, strategies, and schedules to optimize production, minimize costs, and maximize resource recovery.
3. Ensure compliance with all applicable mining laws, regulations, and safety standards.
4. Monitor and control mining activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling, to ensure adherence to production targets and quality requirements.
5. Supervise and coordinate the work of mining personnel, providing leadership, guidance, and training to enhance their skills and performance.
6. Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to identify potential mineral reserves, evaluate their feasibility, and plan for their extraction.
7. Conduct regular inspections of mining areas to identify and address potential safety hazards, equipment issues, or environmental concerns.
8. Manage and optimize the use of mining equipment, ensuring proper maintenance, repair, and replacement to minimize downtime and increase operational efficiency.
9. Monitor and control mining costs, budgets, and expenditures, implementing cost-saving measures whenever possible.
10. Liaise with local communities, government authorities, and regulatory bodies to maintain positive relationships and ensure compliance with community development initiatives and environmental obligations.
