A Data Engineer (Intermediate) is expected to:
  • Design, develop, test, automate and maintain robust small to medium scale Data Engineering solutions with minimal supervision and support, and align with industrial best practices and defined processes
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, to ensure the optimal technical and operational choices for our data products and solutions
  • Take ownership and provide support for delivered solutions and products, and continuously improve solution and data reliability
  • Support junior team members
  • Take ownership and drive personal development plan to ensure building & development of skills and knowledge
What it takes to be part of our team:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree majored in STEM or equivalent relevant experience Preferred
  • Big Data Developer certification or equivalent
  • AWS certifications or equivalent
  • 2+ years of working experience in Big Data, Data Warehouse and Data Engineering fields on mainstream Cloud service providers, including AWS, Azure and GCP
  • 2+ years of extensive working knowledge in different programming language, including Python, Scala, Java, and SQL
  • Proven technical knowledge in designing, building and testing large scale Big Data solutions with structured, semi-structured and unstructured data using cloud technologies
  • Experience working experience with distributed data platforms framework and tools, including Apache Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
  • Knowledge of data lifecycle management, including data modelling & warehousing, analysis, integration, access, storage, governance, security and metadata management techniques
  • Experience working in or alongside a highly skilled analytical team, including data model lifecycle management, and developing analytical data layers
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, with exposure to Scrum and understand Agile Best Practice
  • Familiar with software development lifecycle processes , version control with GitHub and general documentation standards Preferred
  • Understanding of general Loyalty programme business concepts and data-driven marketing
  • Prior experience of provisioning data for analytical and dashboarding purposes and supporting the creation and automation of enterprise scale dashboards, standard reports and ad-hoc reports
  • Prior working experience with streaming data processing on Cloud environment
  • Prior experience with root cause analysis and performance tuning with Big Data solutions
  • Experience with productionising machine learning models at scale in a Cloud environment
  • Familiar with Infrastructure automation, Test Automation, and Containerisation concepts
  • Familiar with Business Intelligence Best Practices and Data Visualisation platforms, including PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, and Looker etc
