Job Description

About The Role

We're looking for a meticulous, research-driven professional to join our Criminal Records team. In this role, you'll be responsible for searching US county, state, and federal court databases to locate criminal case records, extracting relevant case data, and transferring it accurately into our proprietary background screening platform.

Criminal records research is one of the most technically demanding components of the background screening process. US court systems vary significantly from jurisdiction to jurisdiction — each with its own website, search logic, terminology, and data structure. Your ability to navigate unfamiliar government portals quickly, interpret legal records accurately, and distinguish genuine matches from false positives will be central to your success in this role.

This is a focused, independent, production-based role. The majority of your day will be spent conducting online research and entering data — not on calls. If you are someone who finds satisfaction in precision work, enjoys solving research puzzles, and can maintain accuracy under daily throughput targets, this role is a strong fit.

What You'll Do

  • Search US county, state, and federal court websites to locate criminal case records associated with background check subjects
  • Navigate a wide variety of government court portals, each with distinct interfaces, search logic, and record formats — adapting quickly to unfamiliar systems
  • Extract and transfer case data — including charge details, case numbers, filing dates, dispositions, and sentencing information — into our proprietary platform with high accuracy
  • Carefully verify personal identifiers (name, date of birth, address history) to confirm record matches and eliminate false positives before results are delivered to clients
  • Conduct follow-up research to fill gaps in incomplete records, using supplementary sources as needed
  • Flag ambiguous, unverifiable, or potentially mismatched records for supervisor review rather than making independent determinations
  • Meet daily production targets and turnaround time standards consistently
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all subject data in accordance with FCRA requirements and internal data privacy policies
  • Participate in ongoing process, compliance, and platform training as the role and systems evolve
  • Support additional research or operational tasks across the screening team as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Exceptional attention to detail — criminal records research has real-world consequences; accuracy is non-negotiable
  • Strong internet research skills with proven ability to navigate complex, unfamiliar websites and adapt to varied search interfaces without step-by-step guidance
  • Solid data entry proficiency with a focus on speed and accuracy; prior KPH or WPM benchmarking experience is an advantage
  • Strong reading comprehension — US court records use legal terminology and abbreviations that require careful interpretation
  • Ability to work independently through a structured daily research queue with minimal supervision
  • Sound judgment in distinguishing a confirmed record match from a potential false positive based on identifier verification
  • Absolute discretion with sensitive personal information — the subjects of these records are real individuals whose data must be handled responsibly
  • Good written English for internal documentation, exception flagging, and occasional team communication
  • Prior BPO experience in data research, legal process outsourcing (LPO), records management, insurance, or compliance back-office functions is a strong advantage
  • Exposure to US legal systems, court terminology, or background screening platforms is a plus — full training will be provided for the right candidate

Benefits

  • Career growth opportunities in a diverse and supportive work environment.
  • Competitive Salary Package
  • Prime office location in Ortigas (Easy access to MRT stations, restaurants, and banks)
  • Hybrid Working Arrangement (2 days WFH)
  • HMO coverage with free dependent upon hire.
  • Free 24/7 access to our office gyms (Ortigas and Makati)
  • Total of 20 annual leaves to be used on your own discretion (including 5 credits convertible to cash)
  • Plus, additional benefits
