Cost Accountant

Job Purpose

Ensure the proper and timely booking of all cost information in compliance to Company, Government, and Accounting policies and procedures. Assist superior in preparation of month-end cost reports. Analyze weekly, monthly, and year to date cost reports and variations to provide relevant information to Management and all other users.

Main Accountabilities

COSTS

Check, reconcile, and assist in the analysis of Sales, Costs, and Production information IN ORDER to generate a realistic, complete, and timely cost reports. Assist superior in preparation of month-end cost reports. Manage operation in the absence of superior. Provide assistance on cost queries/clarifications.

REPORTS

Prepare cost variation reports such as Inventory Fluctuation, Sales comparison, Production and Inventories to provide relevant information to Superiors and other report users. Assist in the preparation of schedule/reports for BIR and other government agencies as the case may be in order to comply with government requirements/ruling. Prepare and answer queries required by External Auditors during audit review IN ORDER to comply audit procedures.

INVENTORY RECONCILIATION

Conduct, prepare and assist in the reconciliation of physical count IN ORDER to come up with variances comparison for Superior's and other users information.

COORDINATIONS

Communicate and coordinate with concerned personnel of Accounting, Warehouse, Operation, Commercial, and Logistics departments in relation to the preparation of weekly and monthly reports IN ORDER to ensure accuracy and timely submission of the same.

RECORD MANAGEMENT

Keep track of current and historical cost records IN ORDER to ensure availability and accessibility when needed. Manage the proper filing of cost documents IN ORDER to facilitate easy access.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Participate in departmental meetings, trainings, and other corporate activities IN ORDER to achieve personal and career growth.

ADDED INPUTS

• Regional Support
• Renders costing support to RMC Malaysia (consists of 30 active Operating Units)
• Support cement, concrete and aggregate operations in their queries and issues related to JDE, SICO, and Distribution Cost.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy/Accounting required
• Minimum 1 year experience in Cost Accounting/Accounting domain.
• Knowledge in SAP is a plus
