AWS Cloud Engineer (Homebased, Dayshift)

Job Description

About the Client:

We are a Perth based business with years of experience in hardware engineering looking to embrace and
disrupt the market with a cloud based IoT solution for the 2020's to improve the safety and well-being of
our client's and their users. You will get to work with large telecommunications companies and
government entities while using the latest software and hardware technologies in your day to day role.

You will take infrastructure lead implementing and improving the client's cloud-based IoT platform
using the latest AWS technologies. You will assist our CIO to set technology infrastructure, standards and
requirements for the project and work with our engineering teams to provide project infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting to architect infrastructure based on existing software requirements and infrastructure
• Implementing AWS service offerings
• Securing our cloud infrastructure
• Maintaining and monitoring server infrastructure
• Liaising with software engineering team to implement high availability IoT software platform
• Automating software deployment (CI/CD)
• Cost optimisation

Qualifications

• Proven use, management and commercial architecting and implementation of AWS cloud-basedinfrastructure
• An intimate knowledge of .NIX based servers and optimizing for speed and security
• Familiarity with advanced AWS features/services including Load balancing and autoscaling, Elastic Beanstalk, Docker services, CloudWatch, Redis Queues and high availability RDBMS.
• Experience in automating software deployments (we develop in Node JS)
• Ability to automate deployment process (across multiple services and client instances)
• A firm commitment to software security and network infrastructure best practices (including NGINX configuration and SSL)
• A track record in monitoring and supporting high-availability, infrastructure

Strongly regarded skills and knowledge include:

• Experience in IoT (eg. AWS IoT platform)
• Familiarity with the MQTT protocol
• AWS certification
• Test software such as JMeter and Bees with Machine guns
• Telecommunications networks and integration with AWS (eg. Direct Connect)

• Work schedule: Midshift, 1PM - 10PM Manila time
