We are recruiting for an Associate Content Editor who will be part of our Content Services Team in Manila. The role supports the Online Learning team within Content Services alongside the Learning Design & Development team by creating high-quality online learning experiences in collaboration with faculties and departments of the University of Cambridge.

Your responsibilities as an Associate Content Editor:

As an Associate Content Editor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our team at Cambridge Online Education. Your responsibilities will encompass expanding our course catalogue and beyond, aligning with the strategic plan, and maintaining the highest standards of quality in modern digital design and accessibility. You will also be responsible for defining house styles, processes, and policies that contribute to the achievability and sustainability of these goals across the department. This role offers abundant opportunities to learn best practices in the field, engage with new and exciting technologies, and collaborate with highly talented individuals.

Working under the supervision of the Content Services Team Lead in Manila, this role will have a dotted line into and receive supervision from the Head of Digital Content and Media (Academic) in the UK, you will:

  • Manage and undertake a range of editorial tasks, including copyediting and proofreading course content in accordance with the internal Style Guide, ensuring consistency in layout.
  • Proofing marketing collateral
  • Carry out a range of quality assurance and EDIB tasks, including functionality checks and maintaining accessibility.
  • Ensure media assets are transcribed and captioned accurately and meet accessibility standards, and these are formatted appropriately.
  • Carry out a range of copyright permissions tasks, investigating and clearing rights and permissions for third-party content, providing guidance on copyright issues, tracking, and renewing permissions licenses, and liaising with the Legal department.
  • Carry out a range of project support tasks, such as the creation and maintenance of central asset banks and archives, updating quality assurance process documentation, and maintaining and improving processes and documentation, such as the internal Style Guide.

You will be an ideal candidate if you have the below knowledge, experience, or expertise:

  • Working with a wide range of diverse stakeholders, including in international settings.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office or Mac equivalent are also important.
  • Ability to think conceptually, demonstrating creativity and innovation in digital products and trends.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including time management and prioritization.
  • Experience in writing technical support documentation.
