Your Role:

As an Assistant Accounting Manager, you will:

As part of a newly formed team of 10 client accountants with planned ongoing growth, servicing financial services vehicles in the U.S., Cayman Islands, Ireland, Singapore and other offshore jurisdictions.

Role will be responsible for all or some of the following:
  • Prepare and review management accounts (e.g. monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual accounts) for various types of clients such as investment funds, holding companies, aircraft leasing entities and structured finance vehicles
  • Prepare and review annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standard including IFRS, US GAAP, Irish or UK GAAP
  • Prepare and review monthly/quarterly/annual regulatory reporting/filings
  • Provide timely and accurate status updates to ensure deadlines are met
  • Provide coaching and training to junior staff
  • Develop an understanding of multiple service lines to be able to train and answer queries from local staff
  • Act in accordance with and enforce legal, regulatory and internal risk management requirements, including complying with all policies and procedures and internal guidance notes
  • Escalate any business issues to the relevant management personnel
  • Ensure proprietary systems are maintained with accurate data
  • Respond to internal stakeholder queries promptly, accurately and with a high degree of professionalism
  • Develop effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, and other relevant parties, and responding promptly and professionally to requests
  • Display a strong team focus and willingness to assist other team members when required
  • Ad-hoc projects, including reporting, as required
What You Need:

Non-negotiables

  • Degree Holder in Accounting or Finance
  • Professional accounting designation is strongly preferred.
  • At least 7 years of professional work experience
  • At least 3-4 years experience coaching and managing junior staff
  • Previous financial services, investment industry or Big 4 accounting experience strongly preferred
Preferred skills/expertise
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Effective in organizing own work, showing an ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to explain ideas and processes as part of ongoing coaching
  • Generate original ideas and continuously seek out improvement opportunities
  • Strong Excel skills such as SumIfs, Vlookup, Pivot Table, experience in Power Query is a plus
  • Ability to learn new software and adapt quickly to new processes
  • A team player with good time management skills, positive thinking and willing to learn attitude
  • High attention to detail when handling large volumes of financial information
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written English
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Maintain and promote corporate values in conducting internal and external business activities and when interacting with colleagues
  • Adhere to the highest individual ethical and social standards when dealing with colleagues and clients
  • Deliver value to internal stakeholders by consistently providing high-quality service
  • Respond promptly and professionally to requests for assistance
