The Opportunity

We're hiring a Short-Form Video Editor (Shorts / TikTok / Reels) to own the short-form video output for a fast-growing B2B SaaS and AI technology company — turning long-form product launches, tutorials, and demos into 3–6 polished vertical cuts per week for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels that hold up against each platform's native interface. This role requires native-platform layout literacy, strong repurposing instincts, and demonstrated experience editing software or product UI on screen — you'll choose the hook, build the arc around what is genuinely new in the source, design for safe zones and caption placement, and source additional screen recordings when the long-form source doesn't contain what the cut needs. Portfolio evidence of short-form repurposing from long-form source material with software or product UI on screen is required to be considered.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

Short-Form Video Production: Create 3–6 short-form clips per week from long-form product videos, launches, tutorials, and demos — choosing the hook and arc, finding what is genuinely new in the source, and building cuts around it rather than trimming from the top.
Native-Platform Layout Design: Design every cut for the native platform interface — safe zones, caption placement, and subject framing so nothing important sits under the TikTok, Reels, or Shorts UI; maintain consistent type sizing and visual density across every cut.
Product UI & Asset Sourcing: Pull the strongest product moments from the source and keep visual density high; source additional screen recordings or grabs of the product when the long-form source does not contain what the cut needs.
Post-Production & Brand Consistency: Add captions, lower thirds, light graphics, transitions, music, b-roll, and branded visual elements; work inside the existing brand system using supplied fonts, colors, and templates; write and QA subtitles with correct spelling of product, model, and feature names.
Collaboration & Workflow: Review creative briefs and scripts to align editing style with content goals; collaborate with the team asynchronously and during US time zone overlap to incorporate feedback quickly; maintain organized project files, exports, and version control; and help establish repeatable editing templates and workflows as the content engine scales.

What You Bring

Video Editing Experience & Portfolio: 3+ years of hands-on video editing experience with a strong portfolio showing short-form work produced for a software brand or established creator — including demonstrated examples of short-form repurposing from long-form source material and software or product UI on screen. Portfolio evidence of both is required.
Native-Platform Layout Literacy: Demonstrated understanding of where the TikTok, Reels, and Shorts UI sits — with the ability to compose around it using safe zones, caption placement, and framing that keeps critical content visible.
Design Fundamentals & Storytelling: Strong design fundamentals including layout, typography hierarchy, composition, and series consistency; strong storytelling instincts with the ability to shape raw footage into engaging, clearly structured narratives independently from a general brief.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or comparable editing tools; ability to add captions, basic motion graphics, titles, b-roll, music, and branded visual elements.
Attention to Detail & Communication: Strong attention to technical accuracy including subtitle spelling of product and feature names; excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating asynchronously and during US time zone overlap.

Bonus Points if:

You have experience editing content for AI or SaaS products, particularly in-house or agency-side for a B2B SaaS company.
You have experience editing videos for enterprise-level organizations.
You have familiarity with AI-enabled creative or video production tools.
You have basic motion graphics experience in After Effects or similar tools.
You have experience creating repeatable video templates for recurring content series or supporting a high-volume brand social account.
You have worked against short-form performance data and can explain what you changed as a result.
