OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join a growing finance team supporting a multi-entity organization with U.S., U.K., and international operations. This role will play a key part in managing accounts receivable, billing, revenue recognition, and month-end accounting activities while supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses.

The ideal candidate will bring strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, experience with revenue recognition concepts, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to expand into financial reporting, analysis, and broader accounting responsibilities as the organization continues to grow.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Accountant will primarily support accounts receivable, billing operations, and revenue recognition processes while assisting with various accounting and reporting activities across the organization.

Core Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end billing and accounts receivable processes.
Generate customer invoices and ensure billing accuracy.
Maintain deferred revenue schedules and support monthly revenue recognition activities.
Prepare and post journal entries related to billing, revenue recognition, accruals, and other accounting transactions.
Track customer payments and assist with collections activities when necessary.
Respond to customer billing inquiries and provide professional support via email and occasional phone communication.
Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
Support financial statement preparation and monthly reporting packages.
Generate financial reports and assist with variance analysis and ad hoc financial analysis.
Collaborate closely with the Corporate Controller and accounting team on accounting projects and process improvements.
Support integration efforts for newly acquired business entities.
Assist with various accounting, reporting, and operational finance initiatives as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
6+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar role.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles.
Experience with accounts receivable, billing, and month-end close processes.
Experience with deferred revenue, revenue recognition, lease accounting, amortization schedules, or similar accounting concepts.
Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including maintaining schedules, reconciliations, and financial workpapers.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.
Highly dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
Experience with SaaS companies, subscription-based revenue models, or software businesses is highly preferred.
Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus but not required.
Exposure to financial reporting, board reporting, FP&A, or variance analysis is highly desirable.
Demonstrated job stability and long-term tenure in previous roles strongly preferred.
