Role Summary

The Costing Liaison Officer serves as the structured communication bridge between the Costing Department, Purchasing, and Sales. This role exists to protect the integrity of the costing process — ensuring that cost data flows through a single, controlled channel, that costing decisions remain insulated from commercial pressure, and that the Costing team can focus exclusively on accurate cost computation rather than interdepartmental coordination

Key Responsibilities

Costing Purchasing Interface

Receives updated raw material prices, supplier quotations, and landed cost details from Purchasing and translates them into structured cost inputs for the Costing team
Flags discrepancies between quoted and actual supplier prices and escalates before cost revisions are submitted
Ensures Purchasing does not directly submit revised pricing into costing models without Finance sign-off

Costing Sales Interface

Acts as the sole point of contact for Sales when price inquiries, quotation requests, or product cost justifications are needed
Communicates approved selling price floors and margin guidelines to Sales without exposing underlying cost breakdowns
Receives Sales requests for special pricing or exceptions and routes them through the proper approval process — never allowing Sales to directly influence or revise cost figures

Process & Documentation

Maintains a pricing request log — tracking every inquiry from Sales and every cost update from Purchasing with timestamps and resolution status
Ensures all costing inputs are formally endorsed before being acted upon
Prepares summary cost movement reports for the CFO (e.g., when key raw materials move significantly)

Cross-functional Coordination

Schedules and facilitates periodic alignment meetings between Costing, Purchasing, and Sales
Escalates unresolved pricing conflicts to the CFO for final decision
Supports product launches and new SKU on boarding by coordinating the full cost build-up process across departments

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, or Business Administration
2–3 years of experience preferred in a finance, costing, or supply chain role — ideally in manufacturing or trading; fresh graduates or candidates with less experience will be considered for the right fit and trained accordingly
Strong understanding of landed cost computation, BOM-based costing, or trading margin structures (or eagerness to learn these)
Excellent interpersonal skills; able to hold firm on process without being combative
Detail-oriented and organized; comfortable managing a high volume of interdepartmental requests
Experience in the livestock, veterinary, or agri-food industry is a plus
