Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Financial Reporting

Prepare Australian income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
Prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
Prepare complete and organized workpapers to support tax compliance and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with Australian taxation legislation, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Review financial information for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

Client Portfolio Management

Manage a portfolio of SME and mid-market Australian clients.
Handle clients with annual turnovers ranging from AUD 5 million to AUD 10 million.
Assist in responding to client queries and providing timely tax and accounting support.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and Australian stakeholders.

Accounting & Advisory Support

Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or compliance issues.
Assist in tax planning, compliance reviews, and advisory engagements as required.
Support senior accountants and managers in delivering high-quality client service.
Stay updated on changes to Australian tax legislation and accounting standards.

Process Improvement & Quality Assurance

Ensure work is completed within established deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Follow internal quality assurance processes and best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve workflows and increase operational efficiency.
Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all client engagements.

Qualifications

Experience

Australian financial statements

Income tax returns

Workpapers

Practical knowledge and application of Australian tax legislation.
Experience managing SME and mid-market clients within an Australian accounting firm.
Exposure to clients with annual turnovers of AUD 5 million to AUD 10 million is highly preferred.
