Job Description

We are seeking a highly detailed and organized Tax Accountant to join our team, working exclusively from the office. This is a critical, in-office position with no remote or hybrid options available. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience preparing complex United States Federal and Multiple State tax returns and will be comfortable handling all aspects of tax preparation, review, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Preparation and Compliance

Prepare and process complex United States Federal and Multiple State tax returns.
Prepare and file extensions for corporate returns not completed by March 1st and individual returns not completed by April 1st.
Input tax return information provided and maintain an Open Items List for any missing documentation or necessary follow-up.
Make required changes and adjustments to tax returns based on internal review feedback.

Working Trial Balance (WTB) Analysis

Review and thoroughly understand a provided Working Trial Balance (WTB).
Confirm that all tax documents provided align and tie back to the WTB.
Prepare necessary Journal Entries to reconcile tax documents with the WTB when discrepancies exist.

Communication and Collaboration

Maintain easy and open communication with team members and management.
Actively participate in discussions regarding tax returns, changing tax laws, and any necessary adjustments to the WTB.

Qualification and requirements:

Location: Must live within commuting distance of the Provident office and be able to work on-site full-time (no remote/hybrid options).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience preparing United States Federal and Multiple State tax returns.
Skills:
Highly Detailed Oriented with a proven track record of accuracy.
Demonstrated High level of organizational skill.
Strong ability to manage time-sensitive compliance deadlines.
Proficiency in CCH tax software. (Recommended)
