About the Role

A Confidential Global Logistics & Supply Chain Company is looking for a Ground & Rail Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across its Ground Transportation business. This role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, expanding strategic customer relationships, and delivering customized logistics solutions across cross-border trucking, domestic distribution, and Ground & Rail services. Working closely with Operations, Pricing, Product, and Regional teams, you will play a key role in accelerating revenue growth while strengthening the company's market presence across the Philippines and the APAC region.

Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

Drive business growth across Ground & Rail logistics services, including FTL, LTL, milk-run, last-mile delivery, and cross-border transportation.
Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across multiple customer segments.
Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and solution development through negotiation and contract closure.
Achieve individual sales, revenue, and gross margin targets while maintaining an accurate sales pipeline and forecast.

Customer & Commercial Management

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Develop customized commercial proposals and logistics solutions based on customer requirements.
Lead contract negotiations while ensuring profitability and compliance with company policies.
Identify opportunities for customer retention, upselling, and business expansion.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Pricing, Product Management, Trade Lane, and Service teams to deliver customer-centric logistics solutions.
Collaborate with National Sector Leaders to align commercial strategies with market opportunities.
Coordinate onboarding activities to ensure seamless implementation of new customer accounts.
Partner with Legal and Compliance teams when required throughout the sales process.

Market Intelligence & Business Strategy

Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
Support the expansion of Ground & Rail services by providing commercial insights and market intelligence.
Represent the Ground & Rail product in customer meetings and internal business discussions.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial strategies and logistics offerings.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain.
Proven track record in new business acquisition, enterprise sales, and strategic account management.
Experience in Ground Transportation, Cross-Border Trucking, Domestic Distribution, Freight Forwarding, or Integrated Logistics Solutions is highly preferred.
Strong negotiation, commercial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Self-driven, customer-focused, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience in cross-border trucking, FTL, LTL, domestic distribution, or last-mile logistics.
Existing network within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry.
Experience working for multinational logistics or freight forwarding organizations.
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to drive revenue growth and develop strategic customer partnerships.
Ability to thrive in a target-driven, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environment.
