The Accounting Manager is responsible for the supervision of all the activities of the Department in order to meet the department's goals. Also assists the Accounting Assistant Director in the preparation of financial statements and reports, maintenance, and safekeeping of the company's Books of Accounts.

A. Cost Accounting

Updates Item Composition.
Prepares costing and pricing templates for Ancillary Services, Pharmacy, and other consumables.
Prepares Cost of Sales and Inventory variances reports.
Prepares a summary of the year-end Inventory.

B. Financial Reports

1. Assists the Chief Accountant in the preparation of financial statements such as:

1.1 Working Trial Balance

1.2 Balance Sheet

1.3 Income Statement

1.4 Schedule of Accounts

2. Prepares monthly Lapsing Schedule.

C. Checking and Verification

1. Verifies entries on Accounts Payable Vouchers and checks the corresponding attachments.

2. Checks the professional fee summary.

3. Checks and verifies reports of other departments and recommends adjustments if necessary.

D. Book of Accounts and Financial Records

1. Handles costing and pricing templates.

2. Handles general ledger and journal books.

E. Regulatory Compliance

1. Monitors compliance with government reportorial requirements.

F. Business Knowledge and Operations Budget Management

1. Monitors the effect of any commodity increases on the company's profit margin and bottom line goals.

G. People Management and Career Development

1. Ensures timely review of immediate staff performance and implements recommendations on performance improvement.

2. Facilitates coaching and mentoring on areas of costing and pricing imperatives to Ancillary units to come up with a more reasonable and competitive pricing strategy.

3. Pursues personal and professional development programs to improve competencies.

H. Other related tasks or functions

1. Prepares the performance evaluation of immediate staff.

2. Assists the Chief Accountant in all accounting matters.

3. Other related tasks or ad hoc activities which may be assigned from time to time.
